Umbraco Goes Social

It should come as no surprise that the Umbraco community has developed some pretty cool plugins to help integrate social media elements to the web.

One example is  NWS Facebook Social Plugin it includes the Facebook: Like Button, Like Box, Activity Stream, Live Stream and Recommendations widgets.

Also available is the new   Social Bookmarking Button package. It allows you to integrate a sharing widget from the regarded site, AddThis.com.

With an increasing demand for widget integration - a key tenant of Web 2.0 - we should expect to see more fruits of this type of work in the future. Great tools to help harness and connect the collective conversations within social media.
