E-Learning Knowledge Channel
Knowledge Channel is an e-learning platform designed around mission-based learning. A 'mission' can take the form of a traditional theory lecture course, a series of online puzzles that need to be completed or a scavanger hunt that crosses the boarder between off-line and on-line worlds multiple times.
Mission-Based Learning
Knowledge channel creates a unique mission-based learning environment and guides students through the learning experience by laying out a series of milestone achievments. Missions are easy to create and are not reliant on prior technical knowledge.
Leverage Learning materials
In the development of a mission, materials can be pulled from:
- Documents developed off-line using products suich as Power Point, Word or Flash.
- Materials located on the Internet (i.e. video, presentations, blogs).
- Information streams (i.e. RSS or Twitter feeds).
Collaboration and Networking
Participants, both students and instructors, can network through Knowledge Channel's social networking infrastructure, which allows them to create groups and follow each other's progress. Participants are able to send messages, share content and show off their accomplishments. J
Easy to use and flexible
Knowledge channel offers an easy to use interface for both participants and administrators. Built upon established usability design practices, the system is easy to use without sacrifice of the functionality required by users to get the most out of the system.
