Tourism Red Deer

Tourism Red Deer was in need of an updated website. One of the challenges this  project presented was that the site had to accommodate the needs of locals and tourists alike, while also acting as a portal to local businesses and tourism destinations. The client requested that the website accommodated information for consumers, including  local events, attractions, restaurants, and things to do in the Red Deer Region. In addition, they had a need to speak to industry and needed the site to act as a resource for industry partners and provide them with an outlet to better market and connect with their potential customers. The new website also needed to act as a hub for their expanding social media program, while paying particular attention to the needs of the ever growing mobile population. 

Redengine, in conjunction with SBX Media Inc., began the design process by first gaining a full understanding of the unique challenges that this web project faced.  The wireframes started to take shape after the initial exploratory session and the team identified Umbraco as an excellent content management system for the project. Once the design had been established, Redengine began researching and developing ideas for the mobile platform.  Redengine's previous mobile experience played an important role in helping Tourism Red Deer settle on a mobile design that was simple to navigate and that provided the 'on-the-go' user with information they needed. 

The background and research that Redengine conducted on this website build paid off.  The newly launched TourismRedDeer.com has become an important portal for businesses, tourists and locals. This new website promises to assist in the promotion of tourism in the Red Deer region for years to come.
