Fort Edmonton Park
Fort Edmonton Park, the largest living history museum in North
America, approached Redengine to redesign their website in 2010.
The park is a staple in the Edmonton tourism industry and attracts
hundreds of thousands of visitors every year.
Redengine began the process with a series of exploratory
sessions with the Fort Edmonton Park management team to gain a full
understanding of the project requirements. Once this initial
phase was complete, Redengine built a series of wireframes
depicting possible layouts for different pages on the site. The
Fort Edmonton Park team selected the layouts that they liked best
and the website build began. Redengine ensured that park staff were
involved in all phases of the site build and that they received
regular updates during the build phase. Redengine employed the
Umbraco content management system (CMS) as the web platform.
Umbraco was an obvious choice because of its flexibility and ease
of use.
The end result exceeded the expectations of the Fort Edmonton
Park team. The Umbraco content management system allowed for easy
updates and room for future expansion and changes down the road.
The new site has helped Fort Edmonton Park expand their online
presence, increase sales and reach new customers.
