Petroleum Human Resources Council of Canada

The Petroleum Human Resources Council of Canada is a national, not-for-profit, project based council that addresses human resource issues within the petroleum industry. Their old website was primarily static HTML and any updates or changes required manual work by technical staff. As a result, the process of updating was a slow and frustrating one.

The Petroleum HR Council needed a CMS that would make it easy for business users to maintain website content - including a large number of PDF files - without the need to go through IT staff.

After preparing an updated Information Architecture and streamlining the website navigation to be more user-friendly, the new site - including much needed content updates in English and French - was deployed on the Umbraco CMS. Redengine also provided custom development so that project pages can be dynamically classified into multiple categories via checkbox in the CMS, eliminating the need for cumbersome multiple-page updates.

The Petroleum HR Council staff has been given complete control over the content, media and navigational structure of their website, allowing them to make updates and changes in a timely fashion without the need for technical expertise. Custom development has made the Projects section of the site less time consuming to modify and allows the most important content - Council projects - to be sorted for browsing by the issue they target as well as their status.

"I think having multiple developers in a company like Redengine helps so much - even from (the) perspective to getting ideas from each other. I don't think anyone works best by themselves, especially in a communications web-world where creativity is a must and having multiple people sharing ideas is always key. I think I've met almost the whole Redengine team now. All of you are so helpful, it's wonderful."
