Catholic Charities a Redengine Case Study

Redengine collaborated with Catholic Social Services to revitalize and design a series of websites that would bring a clear identity to each division of their organization. The sites were similar but catered to each domain's individual needs.

Catholic Social Services approached Redengine looking for a way to accentuate divisions of their multi-facetted organization online. Individual sites for Catholic Social Services, the Sign of Hope Campaign and Catholic Charities were deemed necessary so the individual needs of each division could be met.

The basic challenge of the organization was to make each site clear and informative, so their diverse audiences could access information with ease. This included some refining and clarification. One of the challenges facing the Catholic Social Services site was the need for a system that could bring fluency to the hiring process of their human resources department.

The sites, all designed and formatted with similar styling, underwent a categorizing process that determined which information was best suited to each site. Incorporating user feedback, information architecture and sorting techniques, the sites were well planned well before their actual creation.

Redengine then worked to design attractive sites representing the organization's feel and values. Included on the sites are features such as large clear headers, perfect for changing campaigns, a location locater, a modern update on the pdf map, and an online hiring system.

The working relationship between Redengine and Catholic Social Services continues since 2007, a testament to the success of the three sites.  Catholic Social Services was able to clarify the roles of each of their sub-divisions with sites that were clear and easy to update.

By digitalizing the hiring process, they are able to post jobs as they appear, garnering a more favourable response to their vacant positions, and applicants are able to post their resumes online.. Resumes can then be reviewed quickly, which ultimately benefits both parties.
