POSP Privacy Training

The POSP (Physician Office System Program) approached Redengine to help them create an online resource for clinicians and staff to ensure their privacy and training knowledge conformed to the Health Information Act (HIA). The online resource needed to identify the principles of the Health Information Act and needed to identify how to apply the Health Information Act in practical scenarios in a clinic setting with electronic medical records.

They were formerly using large PowerPoint documents to deliver this information to clinicians but it lacked any mechanism for tracking and reporting on the training.

Redengine's approach was to develop a module based online learning environment for clinicians and staff. Using Umbraco as the core technology, the system allows participants to progress through the learning modules and quizzes. This enables them to progress at their leisure, which means that participants can return later on to pick up where they left off.

Visually, participants are able to garner their overall completion by looking at the bar graph that highlights as participants progress through modules and also identifies overall program progress. Understanding of the modules is validated through task and quiz components that are built within the system, which ensures that competency has been met and tracked.
