Challenge
COMPRU, a clinical and research centre dedicated to the reconstruction of the head and neck, had been developing and testing a quality knowledge management system for dental implants for over a decade. With approximately 140,000 practitioners performing over 2,000,000 dental implants worldwide, there was an immediate need for a reporting system of the procedure by health practitioners, medical suppliers and other associated corporations. They needed to integrate their patient management software, quality control and practice management systems into a platform that allowed these organizations around the world one centralized location for reporting and information exchange.
Solution
Working closely with partners from the Caritas Health Group (the overarching body managing COMPRU and its activities), Redengine utilized its powerful Content Manager software to develop an internet based solution. The combination of COMPRU technology and our proprietary software offer a product with far greater marketability and accessibility worldwide. Additionally, it has positioned the Caritas Health Group as an innovative organization, which ultimately increased their credibility and image pertaining to their leadership of research and best practices.
Results
The result – Implant Manager – has been provided to 10 pilot test centres in Canada, United States, Europe and South Africa. Current reviews indicate the system is performing well and will allow for future migration to other global medical shared information/technology endeavours.
